Maya Deren 'Meshes of the Afternoon' Tate Modern Pink Pigeon DVD

We were absolutely delighted to be asked by Tate Modern to make the exhibition DVD of Meshes of the Afternoon, one of the most influential films in experimental cinema and a big hit with us at Pink Pigeon.

The seminal film was made in 1943 by Russian-born Maya Deren, an outspoken and influential filmmaker, writer, theorist and dancer, who spent much of her adult life in New York. The dream-like narrative has inspired filmmakers such as Kenneth Anger, Stan Brakhage and David Lynch. It plays permanently in Tate Modern’s Collection Displays on Level 3: Poetry and Dream.
